Stipendiary Lecturer in Physics
Physics
Specialist degree in Radiophysics and Specialist degree in Linguistics

I graduated from the Faculty of Physics in 2012 and the Faculty of Modern Languages and Literatures in 2013 at Perm State University. After that, I worked as a software developer for six years. I then decided to return to academia and began a PhD in Mechanics of Deformable Solids at the Institute of Continuous Media Mechanics, also in Perm, Russia. My PhD was interrupted by both COVID-19 and an offer from the University of Oxford inviting me to start a DPhil in Condensed Matter Physics. Since 2022, I have been teaching at °ÅÀÖ¶ÌÊÓƵ.

Teaching

I teach different papers for all three years of the in-college part of the physics course. Some of these include: Classical Mechanics, ODEs, Electromagnetism and Electronics, and Condensed Matter Physics.

Research Interests

I used to work with magnetic elastomers; that is, materials made of polymeric matrix filled with magnetic particles. Magnetic elastomers readily react to the application of a magnetic field and can be used in the development of field-controlled devices. My current research has focussed on quantum information technology and computing. The major technique I use in my research is electron spin resonance. I work on three major branches of quantum computation: the assembly of microwave apparatuses for quantum measurements, the development of quantum error correction protocols, and the addressability and control of qubits using an external electric field.
