Books - interesting, extra maths...
- How to Think About Analysis, L. Alcock – A little introduction to analysis, aimed at undergraduates, but can also give a flavour of university maths to anyone.
- A Mathematician’s Apology, G. Hardy – A short book where Hardy defends his title as a mathematician, and tells the story of his life.
- Nets, Puzzles and Postmen – A book on graph theory that introduces some interesting results via abstraction of simple problems.
If in doubt, go to your school / local library, find the maths section, and just start reading!

- Team maths challenges – A regional competition that is a more cooperative version of the maths challenges.

Residentials
- – hosted by the University of Oxford, UNIQ is a program that aims to widen participation here at Oxford. It’s subject-specific, and you get the chance to attend maths lectures like the undergraduates here.
- – hosted by Christ’s College and Trinity College Cambridge, this residential is an insight into Cambridge life as a maths student, and has lots of fun maths activities to get stuck into, as well as more social events.
- at Murrary-Edwards, Cambridge, STEP Summer School – an intensive residential that focuses primarily on the Cambridge maths entrance exam, and gives you the techniques needed to take it.

Other fun things...
- - MEI – an annual maths challenge that schools can take part in by forming a team of sixth formers to compete… There are weekly, then daily questions, all leading up to a grand finale where you use the answers from your previous questions to solve one final challenge.
- – hosted by the Royal Institute in London, Maths Fest is an event where many different sixth forms and colleges gather to attend some maths talks, get calculators signed by popular mathematicians, compete in mini competitions, and more! Perfect for any maths enthusiast.
