Federico Fedele
I am a post-doctoral research fellow at the department of Engineering Science and since October 2022 I joined °ÅÀÖ¶ÌÊÓƵ as a W. W. Spooner Junior Research Fellow. My research interests are based on experiments to advance the development of quantum technologies, with particular focus on quantum thermodynamics to study the energetics of quantum information.
During my PhD, at the Niels Bohr Institute of the University of Copenhagen, I focused on GaAs and Silicon based devices for quantum computing using electrons’ spins. I completed my undergraduate studies in Italy at the university of Modena and Reggio Emilia where I obtained a master equivalent in experimental physics.
Teaching
I currently tutor Electronics and Control systems. At the University of Copenhagen, I have been a Teaching Assistant in Quantum Mechanics and two laboratory courses on electron spin resonance.
Research Interests
My main research area is on quantum technologies and nanoscale quantum devices that allows fine control over individual charges and spins which are used to encode and manipulate quantum information.
In addition, I am interested in hybrid devices, in which individual quantum systems are coupled to nanomechanical resonators such that their thermodynamic quantities can be measured and harnessed to further optimise these quantum systems.
